Homeowner checklist

  4. Get required permits. Hire a licensed plumber / electrician when code or the project needs it — this page is not an install guide.
  5. Keep invoice + serial/model photos. Apply within 30 days of install if using the post-purchase form.
  6. If income-qualified, complete the Efficiency Boost section — verify income guidelines on PSE.

Hire licensed when required

Proper sizing, 240 V circuits, condensate drain, and seismic strapping are common on HPWH jobs. If you are not licensed for the work your city/county requires, hire licensed trades. PSE Trade Ally Network is one discovery path — still verify licenses yourself.
